Electrical equipment deterioration is normal, and failure is eventually inevitable. However,
equipment failure can be delayed through an effective Maintenance Program. A well
administered and maintained program reduces accidents, saves lives, minimizes costly
breakdowns and unplanned shutdowns of production.
A Maintenance Program is a form of protection against accidents, loss of production and loss of
profit. It is often an insurance requirement for industrial facilities. Note the following case from
NFPA70B:
In one industrial plant, “damage amounting to $100,000 (U.S.) was attributed to failure of the
main switchgear. Fouling by dirt, gummy deposits, and iron fillings caused the failure. The cost
of this failure would have supported a comprehensive EPM program covering all of the plant’s
electrical distribution system for several years.”
EDA will analyze your electrical distribution system and create a customized Maintenance
Program based on NFPA 70B guidelines. We can help coordinate your planned Maintenance
outage and provide hands on support, working directly with your electricians and contractors.
